Our story

The Name

Named for the ship that sailed to the edge of the known world.

In the ancient world, Tarshish was the farthest a voyage could reach — a distant port beyond the open sea, at the very edge of the known map. The ships of Tarshish were the great vessels built to cross that water and carry their cargo home.

We took the name for what we make: leather cases and organizers for everything you carry — built to hold their shape for decades, not seasons, and to travel as far as you do.

Tarshish is also the name of an ancient gemstone — golden, and the blue of deep water — the two colours this house is built from.
